Day 1

Awaken your adventurer on day 1 with warm ups!

FAMILY VACATION TORTUGUERO COSTA RICATortuguero may be the most peaceful place in Costa Rica – twitter@ivanreinoso

The C Costa Rica Adventure Vacation begins in the heart of Costa Rica — Pejivalle.

First, raft the Pejivalle River out of La Amistad International Park in the morning!

Then, it’s off to Turrialba to canopy and rappel in the afternoon! There might be time for lunch as well!

Worked, spend your evening relaxing at your beautiful lakeside hotel so you can get a good night’s rest!

On day two, the expedition begins!

Day 2

Costa Rica’s most famous river — because of both its whitewater and the jungle setting, — the Pacuare River has river lodges throughout the canyon.

Staying the night is a must!

On the first day you’ll run several dozen class II and III rapids.

At the campsite, you can do just about whatever you’d like! If you need suggestions, your guides will have plenty!

But, relaxing in the quiet and watching the river run might be most favorable!

Day 3

The crux of the Pacuare River — Huacus — is between 20 minutes and an hour after launch!

Costa Rica Adventure VacationCliff Diving into Pacuare River

If you hit Huacus in under 45 minutes, the river is big! The next two class IV rapids are Cimarrones and Dos Montanas. And, there are dozens of smaller rapids and waves in between. The Pacuare ends up being most people’s favorite part of Costa Rica!

After running the second half of the river and taking out in Siquirres, you are off to Arenal!

4-5

There is so much to do in Arenal you will have a layover day there to enjoy the scene!

You can fit two activities in per day in Arenal.

You can zipline down the Arenal Volcano, horseback ride, ride ATVs, go canyoning, go spelunking, or sit in the hot springs and mud baths!

Off to the Pacific Coast bright and early, you choose Guanacaste or Puntarenas!

Day 6

Whether you choose to see the Nicoya Peninsula in northern Pacific, the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, or head down to see the Osa Peninsula, there is plenty to do!

In the way of adventure, you can sea kayak, go whale watching, body board or surf, buggy on the beach, UTV in the mountains, or horseback ride.

How about bungee jumping?!

By the way, there’s nothing that says you can’t hang on the beach all day on your Costa Rica adventure vacation!

Day 7

There are two can’t-miss rivers near Quepos!

The first is the Rio Naranjo. Steep with tight corners and big drops, the Naranjo is one wild horse! After running the river, you’re off to your second activity of the day!

You can choose a new activity or something you’ve already done. How about skydiving lessons?!

But, you need to make time for the beaches in and around Quepos!

Day 8

Savegre River Rafting

The second river near Quepos that is a huge hit is the Rio Savegre.

After a wild and exciting ride, you can decompress in the late afternoon at the beach! We suggest, however, you head for another activity!

Make certain you and yours are exhausted by the evening!

It’s the last full day of the trip after all!

Day 9

If time permits, you can enjoy the beach until it’s time for your Costa Rica guide and chauffeur to shuttle you back to the airport in plenty of time to check in for your flight!
